The trust of more than 20,000 inpatients and 30,000 outpatients per year attests to the hospital's great significance in the Rhine-Sieg region. A team of more than 850 staff members works hand in hand for the health and benefit of the patients. With the future in mind, Helios Hospital Siegburg operates a nursing school offering about 90 training positions. 

The hospital offers 354 beds distributed over the departments of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cardiology and Angiology, Internal Medicine comprising Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Pneumology, General and Visceral Surgery, Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery, Vascular Surgery as well as Radiology. The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine and the External Physician Department of Otorhinolaryngology complement the range of medical services.

The ever more complex requirements for medical services are accommodated by the hospital's interdisciplinary medical centers. These include the Obesity Center, Center for Hernia Repair, Interdisciplinary Vascular Center, the Certified Colon Cancer Center, the Lung Center, the Spine Center, the Regional Trauma Center, the Aortic Center Rhine-Sieg and the Heart Center Siegburg.

The Helios Heart Center Siegburg is one of only a few heart centers in Germany. The Heart Center Siegburg with its specialist departments of Cardiology/Angiology and Heart Surgery enjoys an excellent reputation on both national and international scale. Heart specialists began their work here more than twenty years ago. Since then, the Heart Center has been a pioneer in numerous innovative treatment methods. More than 7,000 patients are treated here at the Heart Center each year. With the three departments of cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery, rhythmology and electrophysiology, as well as cardiology and angiology, we specialize in all topics and medicine related to your heart. The close cooperation of the three departmental clinics and the close contact with our patients guarantee you the best possible medical care in all treatments and operations at our heart center - and the friendly teams of our three chief physicians provide care that is as highly competent as it is pleasant in human terms.

The department for Heart Surgery is divided into five main types of surgical procedures:

• Atrial ablation for "stand alone," paroxysmal, persistent, or permanent atrial fibrillation
• Endocarditis surgery
• Coronary surgery
• Minimally invasive aortic surgery
• Heart failure surgery

The department for Rhythmology and Electrophysiology offers three focus points:

• Cardiac arrhythmias
• Electrophysiological examination
• Pacemaker surgery

The department for Cardiology and Angiology has an expertise in:

• constricted or occluded coronary arteries (chest pain outpatient clinic)
• Cardiac MRI
• Cardiac catheterization
• Valvular heart disease
• Angiology: diseases of arterial and venous blood vessels and lymphatic vessels in the body
